The Saint-Michel Hospital treats 12 to 15 patients a day in the oncology department.

Establishment of the Mimi Foundation

The wellness center housed in the Hospital Saint-Michel has two rooms, one shared by the beauty and hairstyle consultant, and the other for the psychologist. These premises are located at the entrance to the oncology department.

ALEXANDRA MEERT - PSYCHOLOGIST

Alexandra Meert has a degree in Psychology and received additional training after her diploma in Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy at the Psychotherapeutic Hospital.

She knew early on that she wanted to work with people suffering from cancer, hence her involvement with various oncology departments: she took responsibility for the psychological follow-up of patients and their families in the Erasmus Hospital in 2002-2003 and implemented studies in verbal communication between doctor and the oncology patient in the context of the Centre for Terminal care (CAM) in 2005.

In 2006 she entered the Europe Hospitals and provided psychological support to women with gynecological cancer.

In 2008 she took the opportunity to become a team member at the Mimi Foundation and to put her experience to excellent use for the benefit of the patients at the oncology daycare department in the Saint-Michel Hospital.

 

INGRID BEERNAERTS– BEAUTICIAN

Ingrid Beernaerts obtained her degree as Entrepreneurial Head in Aesthetics in 2000 and has continuously developed her expertise ever since through numerous training courses and professional experiences. She worked in various institutions and medical offices and since 2005 she has worked in the department “Esthetic in Health” at the Europe Hospitals.

Her many qualifications enable her to provide specific care to patients, which range from reflexology to corrective makeup for face and body. Ingrid also provides specialist pedicures and manicures.
